Icewear is a leading Icelandic manufacturer and retailer of wool products, souvenirs, and outdoor gear. Designed to suit the unpredictable weather of the Icelandic climate and unique landscape, everyone should have a chance to enjoy the outdoors by being warm and well.
Icewear had an existing online store was driven by Magento 1.9 which had been heavily customised to suit their needs. We needed to build a strategy to deliver an updated store, with new features and a streamlined customer journey for the different markets, currencies and languages Icewear sell in across the world. Starting with a deep data audit to understand the strengths and weaknesses of their site informed our UX team on what needed to be delivered on the new site. Icewear produces visual products and we needed to introduce storytelling wherever possible as the detail in the product’s construction and suitability to the customer were paramount to display.
We delivered a fully bespoke front end, in keeping with the brand and focusing on a customer-first approach to the e-commerce journey. The store is multilingual and multi-currency and automatically offers the customer content in their native language based on location and browser language. Our development team harnessed the power of Magento 2, delivering a setup that streamlines Icewear’s admin teams in order fulfilment and customer service. Along with bringing faster search, Apple Pay and Ayden secure payments.
Since the project has launched, Icewear’s online growth has improved massively, with more storefronts being opened in different markets.
